de Havilland Pilots
By Michael Browne
I can remember in 1946 when Geoffrey took off on his fatal flight, I was helping my father on the roof of our house in Bramble Road when he took off. There goes Geoffrey Dad said and a few hour later he was devastated when he heard about the crash. Working in the Experimental department Dad had got to know him. Dad was also sadly present at he Farnborough Airshow with the DH team when John Derry was killed when his venom disintegrated. I attach a photo which I believe could have been taken just before that event. My father Thomas (Tom) Browne is standing on the far left.
