Anyone remember Hatfield Drama club which was held on a Friday evening in the main hall of Burleigh School.  It was run by a lovely lady Doris Day.  In 1965 Hatfield celebrated a Civic week and the Drama club produced a play very relevant to Hatfield and the Old Palace where the Princess Elizabeth lived and was told she was the new Queen.  I played Elizabeth and we had some photos taken at the Old Palace and the old town.

  • Like Gerry, I was founder member of Hatfield Drama. Our first production was Pygmalion. I played Alfred Doolittle. I was much too young – only 20 – but it was a good production. The role I enjoyed most was Bottom in Midsummer Nights Dream at Campus West.
