  • I think the player Fred Taylor, is in fact Fred Tyler. You should remember him Jim as he used to live on Stonecross Rd as we both did.

  • I remember going to watch Hatfield play at stonecross road with my granddad Reg Rowark he used to stuff my pockets full of sweets from the club shop. I used to cheer on Andy Porter as the smell of liniment came up through the main stand. After this I would give Claude a hard time messing with the perimeter fence happy days. I remember going on the team bus to away games at Cray wanderers, Sheppey and at spurs in the midland league games. I could have only been 8 at the time.

  • My Grandad Cyril Holton he loved playing for Hatfiled FC, I use to play with his Medals when me and my brother were younger.

  • Re the Hatfield Football Team photo . The player to the right of the shield ( as one views the photo ) is Joe Platt – He worked for the LNER in the ticket office at Hatfield Station . I believe that the goal keepers’s name was Cracknall or similar . Much enjoyed Reg Coleman’s article
