Supermarine Swift at Hatfield
Guy Ellis
I am trying to find anyone who worked at the Hatfield plant who may know anything about a Supermarine Swift that was up on scaffolding around 1963 to 1965 when it was removed.
It was supposedly used for noise tests.

I was at Astwick Manor and Hatfield between 1964-1969
I remember the Swift in the field over the fence
near the workshop side of the Manor. I lived at the Manor for the first year.
There was also a Hunting Provost aircraft at St.Albans College, the serial number was WV614, this was owned by Hatfield Polytechnic. I would like to know more about both these aircraft.
Hi I think a book on this actual airframe has just been published as I think it was the one recently restored by jet art Aviation after being saved from outside the scrapyard where it stood for many years in Wales

I just remember it parked in long grass at the western end of the airfield. No more to add.
