Welwyn Hatfield Museum Service

Welwyn Hatfield Museum Service was formed in the 1970s and collects objects, photographs, documents and other items related to the history of Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield and the surrounding area.  We have two sites: Mill Green Mill and Museum based at Mill Green near Hatfield.  A water mill first recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086, which still mills organic stoneground flour.  We have a busy program of events and activities and local history exhibitions.  Our second site is Welwyn Roman Baths, the remains of a 3rd Century Roman Bath house which is situated in a vault under the A1, on the Welwyn Bypass close to Welwyn village.

The website for the museum service can be found at www.welhat.gov.uk/museum which has details of our events, exhibitions, opening times and infomation for visitors.
