  • I was born in Hatfield in December 1934. I lived on Stonecross, number 127, I attended Dellfield School, St Audreys School and finally the Northwestern next door to the Stonehouse Hotel. Polytechnic in north London. I clearly remember Grays Garage in Old Hatfield, there was also a Garage called Waters in Old Hatfield and also on the Barnet By-pass before the A1(M) next to the Stonehouse Hotel.

  • My Dad Gordon Bubb, worked at Grays Garage for 37 years. It was run by the Clark family, I believe Mick was main boss.

  • Hi All,
Does anyone remember a garage on the great north rd Hatfield called Grays? and if they are still trading as I have bought a classic wolseley 1500 that they initially sold. I believe it was a family run business by a Mr Vernon Clark?
    Any info is appreciated.
    Regards Geoff

  • It brought tear’s to my eyes looking back at hatfield that I grew up in. I came to Hatfield from Bramfield in 1949, I lived at east lodge when Birchwood playing field’s was a farm field. Please keep Hatfield alive as it is disappearing now
